Frequently Asked Questions

Pelvic floor therapy treats a wide range of conditions, most commonly prenatal symptoms, birth preparation, postpartum recovery, urinary incontinence, chronic constipation and bowel issues, pelvic organ prolapse, and chronic pelvic pain.

During pregnancy, my goal is to help you feel your best and prepare your body for birth: finding positions that work for your body, reducing the risk of severe tearing, improving pushing efficiency, and managing pregnancy-related symptoms along the way. Postpartum, we address the muscle imbalances pregnancy leaves behind, rebuild strength and coordination, heal scar tissue from tearing or a C-section, and get you back to feeling like yourself.

It typically takes 4-6 weeks for the body to make lasting change, so that's when most patients start seeing real progress. Your exact timeline depends on your symptoms, how long you've had them, and how your body responds, and I'll continually reassess you and adjust our plan as we go.

In Texas, no, you don't need a prescription to start physical therapy. To continue care beyond 30 days from your initial evaluation, Texas law requires a prescription from a midwife (CNM), MD, DO, DC, NP, PA, DPM, or DDS.

I'm out-of-network with all insurance plans. This lets me focus fully on one-on-one, high-quality care, without the restrictions insurance companies place on your treatment. Payment is due at time of service (cash, credit card, or FSA/HSA), and I'm happy to provide a superbill upon request for you to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. I’m happy to work with you to develop treatment plans that fit your lifestyle, schedule, and budget.
