What I Treat

Dr. Lauren Newman offers individualized, evidence-based care for a wide range of pelvic health concerns, from bladder and bowel changes to pelvic pain, birth prep, and postpartum recovery.

Areas of Focus

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy can help with more than people realize, some concerns are well known, others rarely get talked about. Here's a closer look at what I treat, one-on-one and fully tailored to you.

My Process

Comprehensive Evaluation

Once you're booked, we'll spend real time together getting the full picture: your history, symptoms, goals, and a hands-on assessment of what's really going on.

Personalized Plan

No cookie-cutter protocols. We'll build a treatment plan around your body, life, and what you actually want to focus on and get back to.

Collaborative Care

This is a partnership. I'll explain what I'm seeing and why, and we'll make decisions together every step of the way, full transparency, no guessing.

Ongoing Support

We'll track your progress and adjust as we go, so you always know where you stand. Even outside of sessions and after discharge, you'll have my support and resources.

What To Expect

Starting pelvic floor physical therapy can feel vulnerable, especially your first time. My goal is simple: create a space where you feel heard, safe, and never rushed. Every session is one-on-one and fully tailored to you and your needs.

Your First Visit (90 min)
We'll start with an in-depth conversation, your symptoms, history, lifestyle, and goals. Nothing is TMI. From there, I'll do a physical assessment (posture, movement, strength, and when appropriate, an internal pelvic floor exam) to understand what's really going on. We'll review findings together and build your plan.

The Internal Exam
It's always your choice, and only happens with your full consent. This is not a gynecological exam, and it’s done at your pace with guidance throughout. It's simply the most effective way to assess pelvic floor muscles that can't be evaluated from the outside.

Follow-Up Visits (45 min)
Sessions build on your evaluation and may include manual therapy, guided movement, targeted exercise, and strategies for daily life, all personalized to your body and goals.

How Long Will It Take?
It depends on you. Some people come weekly for a few months, others space visits out more for maintenance. I'll always be honest about your progress and your path forward.
